In the tradition of the Mississippi Delta Bluesmen, THE Dubber confronts the world with only his words and a guitar. The self-taught singer/songwriter reinvents himself by infusing styles from a 30-year musical journey: rock, jazz, and funk, flavored by reggae, Middle Eastern folk, and Afro Beat. Born in Washington, DC, and based in South Carolina, he is the architect of modern SCRoots (pronounced “Scroots”) music and has been trailblazing the U.S. since 2005.

The Water Kickers are a Folk/Rock collaboration of singer/songwriters Kelley and Brodie Porterfield from West Columbia, South Carolina, performing both as a duo and as a full band, often joined by electric bassist and producer J. Allen Graham and drummer Steven Harrod. They combine intricate harmonies, heartfelt narratives, and innovative instrumentation, with subtle rhythms and sophisticated picking that gently sway the listeners’ bodies, minds, hearts, and souls.

Since forming in 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina, Candy Coffins have evolved from quiet cult favorite into a deep, dynamic force in modern post-punk. Led by singer/guitarist Jame Lathren with Justin Purdy (guitar), Alex Mabrey (bass), and Jonathan Bradley (drums), the band nods to luminaries like The Cure, Joy Division, and The Psychedelic Furs. Their debut full-length, Once Do It With Feeling (2022), was praised for its cinematic arc and lush instrumentation. Brooding but not oppressive, introspective but also cathartic: Candy Coffins channel the sonic confectionaries of life. Plan accordingly.

A darkly honest and wry singer/songwriter out of Charleston, South Carolina, Don Merckle is a workman’s poet, capable of delivering a rock and roll growl or a quiet dose of smoky barroom introspection with equal passion. His songs have one foot in the Celtic punk of The Pogues and Dropkick Murphys and another in alt-country. He has led Loch Ness Johnny, co-fronted American Gun, and founded Don Merckle & the Blacksmiths, and has shared stages with Drivin’ N Cryin’, Lucero, The Avett Brothers, and more.
